HI,
I saw, and used some times, the great Siggi's WEB Server running on his ZX81
So I like to ask to Siggi and the other members: is it possible to run the WEB server and put it online using the EO or other emulator ?
Thanks,
Gus
ZX81 Web Server
Re: ZX81 Web Server
Hi Gus,
I don't think that any "standard" emulator would support the "non-standard" hardware I built in 1986, which is used since 2007 as web-server. Here is some information about it (in Tom's forum, in German)
http://forum.tlienhard.com/phpBB3/viewt ... =300#p1487
The non-standard hardware is:
- a home brewed ram card with 512 kB paged ram used as ramdisk (drive R) and 32 kB paged ram used as workspake for MEFISDOS (the disk OS to read/write MMC cards and the ramdisk)
- a modified "standard I/O card", designed for ECB bus based Z80 systems, containing a PIO, a SIO with 2 serial ports and a CTC as baud rate generator
- a home brewed "fast MMC interface" card, which supports up to 4 MMC cards (drive C, D, E)
- a modified "softrom card", which has 2x8kB battery buffered ram at address 0-8K to hold a patched rom for autostart of the server after power fail
So the server uses a lot of very special hardware, which is probably not supported by any ZX81 emulator ...
