Looking for an art program

Hey all,

One of my favourite pastimes is creating lo-res art on vintage computers; I am completely new to the 81 scene so I'm looking for advice on an art program, if such a thing exists? I'd be very interested to get into to ascii-art or similar on it and I realize that this may yet come down to scratch in my own basic listing lol

Any advice gratefully received!

Hi zxooner and welcome to the forum. :D

A most excellent art package called ZX4paint can be found here (not sure how low res it is)...

http://www.rwapsoftware.co.uk/zx81/zx81_software.html

Scroll to screen bottom and it's the second to last title.

Created by French programmer Dominique Contant in Forth, with instructions translated from the original French into English by myself at his request, so if it doesn't do what it's supposed to blame me!

Regards.

Moggy.

Outstanding! Thank you for the link and I look forward to giving that a spin. This is new ground for me so most exciting :-)

HI,

VB81 ?
Juste open the "EasyDraw" window and save the D_file in a "Bas" format (text format).

Reload the basic program and save it in a 'P' format...

Thanks for the tip! Will give that a look but I'm a stickler for doing stuff on the actual hardware as far as I can.
