Well, I went along and after spending a lot of time around the arcade machines (Manic Miner ported to PacMan hardware was quite something!) I went in search of the 8-bits.

There were a good few Speccys on display, 4 linked via network cards but they were running Chuckie Egg rather than the multiplayer Tank game detailed on the stall. There were also some nice SD card adapters which plug into the Z80 socket, complete with firmware to patch the Load and Saves.

Finally at the end of a row of old consoles and computers I spotted the ZX81 :D It was running Manic Miner when I saw it, along with an info sheet detailing the ZXPand. There was also another ZX81 with Memotech 16k sitting beside it but not plugged in.

There was nobody on it whilst I passed but it was nice to have some representation at such a big show :-)

Do You have, by a chance, any photos?

I did try to get one of the ZX81 but it didn't come out too well (just using a camera phone). However, there are a load of walkarounds on YouTube, just search for "Play Expo 2012". At least one I was looking at last week showed the ZX81 briefly as the photograhper walked up and down the aisles of old computers. The ZX81 was next to a CBM PET which is a bit easier to spot from a distance in the videos.
