ZXzine #11 is now available from the following links:

This issue is the largest so far. It introduces two new T/S hardware products; the TS-PICO, which is sort of like a ZXpand for the T/S 2068. There is also the T/S 1510 Clone and Cartridges, which is the Cart reader for the ZX81, T/S 1000, & T/S 1500, with cartridges that can have up to 4 programs loaded. T/S-Pico can be found here:

This is also the first issue that has been printed in hard copy. The funds from the Bill Miller collection has paid for 75 issues to be printed (glossy paper, full color, etc). Some will be made available to folks on the other side of the pond. Details will be forth coming.

Nice accomplishment with the zine. A good variety of topics too
and thanks for bringing back memories. ZXzine said "the three local T/S groups collapsed into a single Bay Area T/S group with Bill being the organizer and point of contact".
In 1991 (just after Desert Storm) I was visiting friends in the Bay Area and I saw an ad in the local computer newspaper for a Timex/Sinclair user group meeting on Saturday at Stanford. This was probably April 1991. Cool, I wouldn't mind seeing Stanford. I drove over there and found the designated room, but no one was there. So, I called the phone number and the guy who answered said they didn't meet there any longer, club membership had dwindled, and invited me to his house where there were a couple other TS guys. I don't remember much about that day, but they were older guys, about 50-60, and one wondered why I wanted to use a ZX81. They were mainly interested (as I recall) in the QL? And were talking about using a 'cheap' 386 machine to act as a file server for the Sinclair machine. Having never a QL, or even a 386 at that point, I really couldn't relate to what they were saying ...
Now I'm wondering if it was Bill I talked to. I think the house was in San Jose

David,
Odds are it was Bill that you talked to. He lived in Cupertino, which is next to San Jose. It's hard to tell where Cupertino ends and San Jose starts. Another person there could have been Terry Greenlee. If it was an older guy with a beard, then Jack Dohaney (who was big into the T/S 2068).

I've set aside 8 issues to be made available to those on the other side of the pond. They are available for only the cost of shipping (which should be about $9). The first 8 people that send me an e-mail with a mailing address will get the issue. Contact me at

David,
The 1K Othello is based on a project I had around 2006/2007 where Einar Saukas, Digital Prawn and me were coding a game of Othello in just 1 line. The AI is from Einar and the hires game is based on this ONELINER Othello.
It is quite a story how each time we found improvements and in the end had a much better version than ever imagined.
Alas I can’t find the thread but here is the oneliner
