Lemon 64 and Lemon Amiga sites down after being attacked

Post by 1024MAK »

A bit off topic... But something that unfortunately I feel the need to mention.

Another community has been subjected to an attack. Both Lemon 64 (for Commodore 64 machines) and Lemon Amiga are down.

On the Spectrum Computing forum, PROSM says:
PROSM wrote: Sat Jul 13, 2024 11:01 am According to lifeschool over on the English Amiga Board, both Lemon sites have been hacked:

It may take some time to secure the site, but Kim says it can be done given some time.

This is an increasing problem, so I hope eab is secure?

If they also use phpBB maybe we should upgrade to a newer version without the security flaw.

As already said the most important part is to have a backup.
An offline backup!! (meaning that no attacker can access it)
Even better two or three rotating ones so even if the last was backing up already compromised data there is an erlier one.
There is and there will be always the possibility to be hacked.
The important is to be able to rebuild everything.
