Reunited with an old friend

My Dad was absolutely sure this had been sold a very long time ago (to buy a trumpet I believe) but my brother happened across this hidden in a box in the attic -

Its the family ZX81! The first computer I ever saw in the flesh. A slightly emotional moment. I now actually have a ZX81 that is mine. Well, shared but close enough. I owe this little computer a lot.

Quickly tested it with a Chroma and ‘spand and all is well, even the keyboard. Just needs a bit of a clean.

Sadly none of the tapes were with it but if this was still up there maybe they are as well.

Thanks. I keep meaning to sort a cable to do that but since getting a ZXpand my motivation levels have dropped.

I was hoping to find any of the tapes where I had saved my masterpieces of programs written back then. I’m sure they would have been good for a laugh! No sign of them but hey - its a fairly big loft.
