Alan Turing to appear on new £50 note

Just for laughs, they should wait until the note is 6-12 months in circulation, and then quiz the public on who 'that dude' is & what he is famous for... :) But it'll be a while before you can get your hands on one:
The new polymer £50 note is expected to enter circulation by the end of 2021.

Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb :!:
Looking forward to summer later in the year.

Having visited Bletchley a number of times because of my interest in cryptology in general and being fortunate to have had the friendship of two former Bletchley operatives both now sadly passed, (she Bombe operator, he Hollerith room operator then GCHQ respectively) I think this is a nice and welcome honour.

I have visited bletchley Park recently and was surprised that there was hardly any mention of Alan Turing.
When I studied Computer Science in the 80ies when studied his work for half a year (one semester).
I'm glad he is now honored this way after his bad experiences in England.
Kind regards Paul
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.
