Dump Original ZX81 Tapes
Hi to all ZX81 friends.
I'm collecting a lot of rare ZX81 stuff (also many MIA) and I would like to preserve it as I do for QL/Sam Coupè/Speccy stuff.
How I can make Dumps of the original tapes? Like TZX for the Speccy?
There is a program especially written for the ZX81 for make this things? And the Emulator that can read it naturally.
Thanks for helping me.
Best regards.

Re: Dump Original ZX81 Tapes
There is a tape scrape program for zxpand.
It reads the tapes and saves them to SD card.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.

zxpand (TM) (c)
Get the wav sound from tapes.
"Eighty-one" able to convert all "P" files from a Wav source, and save it in "P" format via the "TZX manager" window.
If the tape can't be saved file by file, the emulator won't be able to save the package in "P" file, a TZX/T81 metafile format will be required.
If the file is a fast-Load (a "P" loader file and a custom signal), just keep it in a wav format...
The TZX in Pure tone can be created and retrieved, but many emulators can't reload such format!

You may have to get some very strong chains, to pull SirMorris away from his Acorn Atom and his Video Genie firstranma_simon wrote:But...there will be more ZXPAND?
Then he will have time to finish the redesign and restart production...

I don't think anyone will be selling one any time soon.
There popularity took even Sir Morris by surprise I think.
