Advice on upcoming Retro show

Post by blittled »

On October 24 in Pittsburgh PA there will be at a small Retro Computer Show which I'll be doing a display at. What I'll be taking is a working Timex Sinclair 1000 with the RWAP keyboard replacement, ZX81, ZX-Core, DE0-Nano FPGA with ZX-Gate and an non working Cosmac Elf II. I will also be taking TVs, cassette player, cassettes and two microcontroller boards that read SD cards and converts p files then loads a ZX81. I also will have many books and hard copy info from websites on the ZX81 and 1802.

I plan to have the attached handout for any interested individuals. I would like any input on the accuracy of the handout and if you have comments or ideas on adding or deleting items in the handout. Thanks!

I only had a look to page one.
It seems correct except for the processor speed. It is 3.25 MHz not 3.5.
The resonator is 6.5MHz which is divided by two.
kind regards Paul
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.

ZX81 Computer
In 1981 Sinclair came out with the predecessor of the ZX80, the ZX81.
Do you mean successor?

I'm not sure I would call the Jupiter Ace a clone. It used a Z80 CPU and "flat" keyboard, but in most other respects it was different. For example, it's display system is very different to that of a ZX80 or a ZX81.

Have fun and good luck :D

:!: Standby alert :!:
There are four lights!
Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb :!:
Looking forward to summer later in the year.

Thanks for the input. :D I made the corrections and replaced the Jupiter Ace with the Lambda 8300 on the list.

Second that. The way it was built resembles the ZX80 in several ways (and iirc some ex-Sinclair employees were involved in its design?), but it's really a different computer. Forth ROM, different display system, not ZX80/ZX81 compatible in any way (afaik), ...

Btw check your links:
http://forum.tlienhard.com/TS1000/www.ts1000.us that forum (same link but without the "TS1000/www.ts1000.us" part) is still active I think - check the date on some "last post" entries. Just not very active (besides being German-language).
http://www.aptanet.org/eightyone/ typo
http://www.worldofspectrum.orgrrent another typo
http://www.rwapsoftware.co.uk appears twice, I'd suggest including once & describe appropriately.
