Hi & Replica ZX80

Post by 4thseax »

Hi,

Been a lurker for the last few months, so thought it about time to register and say "Hi" :)

Finally got round to soldering up a replica kit I received last month as gift for my birthday. It was the "Bulgarian" from oricfan and I have to say the quality is great. While I can appreciate it can never replace an original, I have never been fortuate to own one (yet - my earliest is an '81), it is a great addition to my ever growing Sinclair collection (I actually started with a 48+, and have been working backwards in time ever since  )

No issues so far, just need to actually power it up properly and get it fully running some software.
I have however started to work on a case for it - I hope to have some details and less rough looking example in the next weeks. Currently a hand cut prototype, but have a vacuum formed version on the go in the workshop...

Bye for now,

That looks great!
I would be interested to know about the kit and where from.

Looking good there, I've just ordered one of his replica Jupiter Ace kits, hopefully once I have that working I'll be able to figure out what's wrong with my original JA board :(

Cheers.

Phill.

I have the similar ZX-81 made in Brazil, the TK-85 with 54K memory.
