Tapatalk support

Post by eduardo »

Dear forum admin.,
Hi!
First, sorry if this message is not on correct sub-forum, I have not found better place.

I would like to ask the admin. if is possible to install the Tapatalk support module in this forum.
Tapatalk, for those not know, is an app for smartphones (iOS and Android), to access fast, easy and much more confortable, Web Foruns in smartphones and tablets.
I recommend to try.
However, to make a Forum usable in Tapatalk app, is neccesary install a module in the forum admin. console.

Can the admins. install this module here, to make Sinclair ZX World usable in Tapatalk?

The module does not affect and do not modify anything.

Tapatalk web site: http://www.tapatalk.com

Instructions to install Tapatalk module: http://www.tapatalk.com/activate_tapatalk.php

If I can help in anything about this installation, just contact me!

Thank you very much!

Hopefully if this is done there is a setting to stop it constantly nagging you to install tapatalk. This has made other forums totally unusable for me :-(

No idea why this is any better for mobile users, but if it helps then it could be a good thing.

However, looking at the thread (and links) http://support.tapatalk.com/threads/can ... mpt.16303/ - it seems that whilst Tapatalk places a cookie per forum (presuming your forum has been added to their database!) you could end up seeing the popup to install the app on each forum you browse.

This seems to annoy quite a few people looking on the internet - I wonder if it is worth it for the gain?

I would see that as a bad and off-putting thing. I'm personally perfectly happy browsing this forum (and World Of Spectrum on which Eduardo has made a similar request) on a mobile without any such aid.

It is apparently possible to enable tapatalk support without having the irritating popup. I guess that is the ideal solution for both sets of users.

I can see where using web forums on a smart phone would be harder, but as far as tablets go I've been using my 7" & 10" and never had an issue. In fact, because it's a very clean design, I've found this site to be one of the better ones. Personally, I always have to wonder that the catch on these "Free" enhancements/apps are. As if I'm not already tracked, categorized, collated , and cataloged enough.
