A bit of a long winded heading I know but I have always wondered why, when using the search function, do you sometimes get the..." you cannot use this functionf for the next X seconds" message. Is there any meaningful reason for this as it can be quite annoying at times?

I don’t know the reason. It’s something that happens on other phpBB forums as well.

Part of the reason may be to limit the load on the system from automated systems that try to use the search system.
