Last night there were plenty of fireworks being launched in and around my home town.

In my part of the world, we have more than just fireworks.

We have large winter illuminated carnivals.

These are known as the Somerset County Guy Fawkes Carnivals

You will also find various video clips of the various carnivals from previous years if you go searching.

For most of the year club members spend large amounts of their free time constructing very large carnival carts (also known as floats). Full of brightly coloured lights and loud music systems. Some have various electro-mechanical movement effects or special smoke or light effects. Often constructed on long farm trailers or truck chassis’s pulled by a decorated tractor, with a very large electric generator as the last wagon.

They wind round the streets of the towns and provide a wonderful display, brightly lighting up the dark night.

Definitely something to be enjoyed
