Re: newbie questions

I've read that unlike on Speccy, ZX81 has some special circuitry that lowers the volume output, so it's probably normal that there's a very low output when saving to tape. I don't know if the Speccy lacks any volume circuitry, but the signal from the ZX81 is definitely lower. I remember "back in th...

Re: TEXT81 - ZX81 to PC text conversion!

I was thinking of writing something like this, but you've beaten me to it.

Maybe of little practical use but fun nonetheless to make files on the Zeddy which are read on the PC.

Re: 1k Fight against cancer : the demogames

I think tape scrape could be very useful. I've been rummaging around in my mum's attic and found some old tapes with goodness knows what on them. Some are labelled "ZX81 collection" while others clearly have several Zeddy programs stored on them. But back OT, I shall definitely try the new 1K demo g...

Re: Spreading the Zeddy word

I've also posted a handful of Zeddy vids to Youtube, something I shall do more of when time allows.

When you actually execute the SAVE command there should be anything from 20 seconds to 8 minutes of mid frequency activity. You might pick it up...

Re: The Forum is often dead

I just thought I would chip in and say I don't recall ever having significant problems accessing this forum since I found it in May 2011.

I generally access it between 06:00 and 22:00 GMT/BST, sometimes later on weekends from a variety of fixed and mobile devices.
