Great!
Is it the difference that DIR is more common with file systems that can handle subdirectories as well and CAT does not?

Can give the layout files in Eagle 3.55 format or as PDF. And the ROM image too. Anything you need to build your own mageco.

Re: "Mageco" disk controler. [infos, Docs wanted]
It is interesting that the mageco IF works without any controller chip. Only done with LS logic.
As I had tested it worked very stable and not even slow.
But the DOS is some special kind you have to get used to first.

Email address for Didier? I have. But he is not with electronics.
If somebody could help me to get the IF running. I would send my PCBs for further testing. Also have the designs in Eagle here.

The schematic on XavSnap was drawn by me.

Re: "Mageco" disk controler. [infos, Docs wanted]
I had this interesting interface 10 years ago here for repair.
It was from somebody in France, (Bordeaux ?) but I don't remember the name.
I made a copy of the PCB, it was working so far and I can read the discs, but it doesn't write correctly.

Hello from Germany
Here is another member of the German ZX Team. I came to computers in 1985 with this Z80 based machine: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polycomputer_880 ZX81s were hard to find in the GDR this time so I got a Power3000 then. Then I was some years away from that and did other electronics as the ZX Team ...
