Is the preferred format WAV, 44.1khz 8 bit mono?

I don't have an inlay but I do have hte original cassette. I've been delving in my old tapes stored at my mother's house, and found a few of my ZX81 tapes (yeah!). One is Planets by Kamisoft. I have no inlay and the cassette looks professionally but very cheaply printed. I remember owning and playing this title but don't actually remember what kind of game ...
