Re: Repurposing the ZX81 Keyboard
I agree it wasn't the best keyboard but if you compare it to the Altair 8800 and Elf computers of the 70's using a bank of toggle switches for a "keyboard" the little ZX81 keyboard was a luxury. I had something drop on my original TS1000 that ripped the keyboard. I was able to send it to Timex and t...

Re: Repurposing the ZX81 Keyboard
Moggy,
Thanks for the tip. I got one of Pokemon's keyboards too and never used it because I couldn't get the ribbon into the plugs.

Repurposing the ZX81 Keyboard
I regularly check out Hackaday's website and today they had an article on someone using a ZX81 keyboard with an Arduino https://hackaday.com/2022/10/24/one-of-the-worst-keyboards-ever-now-an-arduino-peripheral/ . I don't care for the title, I spent many hours typing away on that keyboard and had no ...

A possible ZXPand alternative?
From the post https://www.sinclairzxworld.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&p=48364&sid=06653995d4dcffb716ee8a38905494ce#p48364 it sounds like the ZXPand+ is coming to an end. Being in the States I usually get notification that Sir Morris has put one on Sell My Retro in the early morning and by the time I get u...

Re: expansion board: zx-pico-io
Awesome project! :D A couple of days ago I was thinking of interfacing a Pico to a ZX81 so it is great to see someone is already doing it. For myself I decided to look into using a Teensy 3.5 which is 5V tolerant and is a bit more powerful than the pico. Please keep us updated on your progress since...

Looking for a book
Back in the 80's I was a member of the Capitol Area Timex Sinclair User Group. They had a SIG for machine code and used a book I got that was an excellent source for machine code. Sadly over my moves I lost it and forgot the title. I finally found the title and was wondering if anyone has it and is ...

GCHarder,
Thanks for the CATS Newsletter link. I was a member in 1985-1986 before moving back home from DC. I may have submitted an article or two for it. I'll have to look at them when I get a chance.

Hackaday had an interesting article about a similar kit and a video link to someone building the kit. The link is https://hackaday.com/2022/02/09/build-your-own-crt-tv/

Re: Some reading for Toddy Forth.
Just came across this post. I have this book! I have the edition with the dark cover that mrtinb linked to. I bought it in the mid eighties at Radio Shack since I was interested in Forth. I remember it was a very informative book. I'll have to blow off the dust and reread it.
