Re: ZX80 Gerber files
The ZX8-CCB was made to deliver 1Vss composite video signal at 75R as standard input impedance of the video device. There may be two reasons influencing the brightness... Yes... got it working! Forgot to RTFM (Read The Fine Manual :D) My fault... Probably going to order a few more from you. The new...

Re: ZX80 treatment with RetrObright
A chemist and her friend walked into a bar. The waiter appeared and asked what they would like to drink. The chemist, being funny, said "I'll have a glass of H 2 O please". Her friend, laughing along, said "And I'll have a glass of H 2 O too!" He died. LOL! I ordered 12% hydrogen peroxide online, b...

Re: ZX80 treatment with RetrObright
Ok guys, update..! This is what my ZX80 looked like when I got it. Yellowed and scuffed and probably used as an ashtray as there were burn marks all over the place. ZXyellow.jpg After proper cleaning with soap and alcohol, I sanded down most of the burn marks. I managed to get my hands on 35% hydrog...

Re: ZX80 treatment with RetrObright
I've done quite a lot of retr0brighting over the years with various systems and it is unfortunately not a permanent solution. Like many others in the early days I assumed that protecting the treated surfaces with UV sealers after the process would prevent it from occuring again. The problem is that...

Re: TS1000 TV connection problem (might be ULA issue)
Hi ts1000user, Welcome to the forum! And nothing wrong with your English. I'm sure someone can help you out. Many clever folks here :-) But I had a quick look at the modulator on your TS1000. It is marked UM1082LA2/3. I recently bought a ZX80 with a similar modulator and that one was intended for th...

Re: Does anyone have this brochure?
Ok. Done scanning... Tried different settings, black/white, grey scale and colour. B/W was horrible. Colour was ok, but you can see the yellowing. Grey scale came out best I think. Even though you can still see the schematic bleed through to the other side :-( Leaflet is getting quite brittle and al...

Re: Does anyone have this brochure?
Sounds like you got a Good Buy, and it is Great News that the ZX80 is Working! Did it come with Original White Power Supply, as these are Extremely Rare now. Scan, Yes Please. If you could Scan it, Hi RES, and have the Scan available for those who would like to Private Message you, then this would ...

Re: ZX80 treatment with RetrObright
Yes, I did that with a TRS-80-Compatible (Videogenie I)... That´s how it works good: First make a Mask with some Paper towels (Toilet-Paper works as well). Put the paper on the plastic and take a sponge with water. Dab the paper carefully. If the paper is damp and all white surfaces are covered, le...

ZX80 treatment with RetrObright
Got my ZX80's guts running today. But the enclosure looks horrible... Looks like it had a beating with a soldering iron and it is quite yellow. I have already removed most of the melted spots with 1500 grit sandpaper, but I want to use RetrObright to bring it back to a pristine condition. Has someon...
