Re: Random maze generator.
Yes, basically if you want a simple life poking the display file, make sure you're running 4K or more so that the display file is a known size.

Re: Z80 Core problem....
Hehe welcome to the club... the ZX80core seems to be at just the level of difficulty to make it achievable by people like me, yet still a challenge and a learning experience. Maybe you too! I hope to be having another session testing it tonight, but at the moment I'm only able to get results in posi...

Re: *GOOD* ZX81 emulator for Android?
Hi there, I think the SHIFT key is supposed to be 'sticky', so you press SHIFT and it stays down, then you press the other key and both of them release. It's a pain, but in the old days Android touchscreens weren't much cop. It's a shame, because on a decent tablet nowadays you could actually have a...

Re: List Remedy
This is a very nifty little routine, actually! I'm impressed. As for your leading-space problem, it's actually very easily solved: POKE 16528,229 POKE 16529,205 POKE 16530,165 POKE 16531,10 POKE 16532,225 POKE 16533,35 Entering these before using it for the first time, you'll now find the line numbe...

Re: ZX80 Core - new ZX80 motherboards
So does it work with manual power-off in position 0 ? You maybe have to do the reset longer, maybe you press to short. No, it doesn't. Unless I force /WR high while I'm doing it, and then let go of that once it's started. Otherwise it mainly stays red, with a couple of brief blinks of green before ...

Re: ZX80 Core - new ZX80 motherboards
OK. I'm now able to start up with the ZX80 image in position 4, and if I then move the switch to position 0 it continues to run. So it's accessing the ROM successfully in position 0. However, if I reset while in position 0, it does not start up successfully in that position. If I hold /WR high while...

Re: ZX80 Core - new ZX80 motherboards
Aha - thanks both of you. My biggest problem has been understand the switch circuitry - ridiculous really, since that's not even a part of the original ZX80 design. But I've improved my ability to read the schematic!
