Re: Kaleidoscope program

Hmmmm, The program uses a temporary section of lower RAM to decode the ZASCHI characters to actual HEX values for Chroma's use. I mistakenly thought the 8K-16K area was the default setting, but after reading the docs again I see a switch has to be turned on. So next time I'll put a warning notice "E...

Re: Quick Mode by Fred Nachbaur

SLOW is SLOW, unless the new ROM fiddles with the video routines it should still be faster. From a design perspective I always felt that an intensive program running in FAST mode, Mandelbrot Fractals for example, should always have a "take a peek" key. The most frustating thing with FAST mode is not...

3D Fractal Landscapes

After 35+ years here's an updated version. 3D Fractals for ZX81. The hardware requirements... You will need a ZX81 (or TS1500) with "64K" RAM. By this I mean that you have to have RAM from 16K to 64K. You also have to have 8K of static RAM, mapped 8-16K, for the high-res display file and associated ...

Re: VB81 Hi-Res Hiccup

You just have to enable QS-HRG in the hardware video section and the ROM is loaded automatically.

There's some demo programs in the "HRG-CARDs-DEMO\QS HRG" folder.

Re: VB81 Hi-Res Hiccup

FYI, it is quite simple to use the QS board for hires dev, in lieu of WRX. They have the same resolution unlike Memotech HRG. As I recall all that is needed is to change the pointer to the WRX dfile to the QS dfile and turn off the WRX display driver. I've never had problems running Pseudo Hires in ...
