Surely it would make more sense for a new joystick interface to support the same joystick controls as the ZXPand+ - the ZXPand+ seems to be one of the most widely used interfaces on a ZX80 and ZX81 today (because of SD support); so it makes sense to mimic it's joystick support

Where the keys are not fully working, this can be the ULA, the membrane, or the molex sockets (as a start). It could be a faulty membrane, but the first thing to check is the molex sockets. Did you leave any bits of the old membrane inside? If not, try using a wire to connect each pin in the 5 way c...
