Now this explains everything. I always thought .P files and .81 files were the same, just a renamed extension. So what I described was in fact the .81 file - thank you for the explanation! :)

Re: Transparent case for ZX80CORE

And another! My album of this adventure is now complete! https://www.flickr.com/photos/51900952@N08/sets/72157644628673844# 14513249454_f16c4ac91e_o.jpg I put a label on the back to show the switch positions, but I made it very slightly too wide - so you can see little white strips peeping out under...

Have you tried that Memotech with the ZX80core? Does it work for you?

Re: How to inject programs into zx81 memory?

According to exactly that page the filename is _not_ coded into the .p nor the .z81 file. That page states that explicitely. It's not encoded as part of the .P format, because it doesn't need to be - it's already present in the data block saved by the ZX81. The .P format only specifies the addition...

Don't forget that a ZX81 tape image begins with the filename. The final character of the filename has bit 7 set. Any bytes after that in the tape image can then be loaded to memory.

Re: Adventure 'A' - Planet Of Death

I only just noticed this thread. Planet of Death, eh? Somebody disassembled it and translated it into C. Who would do such a thing?
[it was me!]

I did it, then forgot about it. That was in 1998! Glad to see someone's taken it and done something good with it! :D
