It also seems to me that large chunks of the Virus engine could be used in something like a Paradroid clone
Just a suggestion.

Shaun.

Re: New game - VIRUS - released.
So what's next? Blimey! No rest for the wicked eh? To be honest I'm not sure. I like the idea of trying to do something in 3D, either maze based like 3D Monster Maze, or a racing game like OutRun, or maybe a scrolling Shoot 'em-up such as R-Type. What would you all like to see next? Out of th...

Re: New game - VIRUS - released.
I've tested the game on a couple of real ZX81s and an old black-and-white, one with a Memopak 16K expansion, and the other with a real Sinclair RAM-Pack and a video inverter. I've not had any problems with it, and it looks quick cool with white on black rather than the standard black on white. Playi...

Re: How do I find out...
Actually, I've been looking at the ZX81's memory map, and it appears that your programme example (for how many free bytes) is incorrect, as follows: 9999 PRINT PEEK 16388+256*PEEK 16389-PEEK 16412-256*PEEK 16413;" BYTES FREE" I actually have a 32K RAM PACK, but in order to access anything above the ...

Re: Basic RAM limites.
I think the answer can be found on the Memotech documentation found at www.zx81.de for using 64K and 32K on your system.

Re: Pipes by Fernando Miguel Barletta
I'll have to load it later, especially as I can use my Laptop as a ZX81 tape player - probably the most useful thing I've done with it

Re: How do I find out...
Hi,
Thanks for the tip. For some reason, it's telling me that I have around 32,000 bytes free? I have a Memotech 16K RAM Pack which is second hand, and it's not a unit I've owned from new... therefore does this mean that it's been internally modified to boost the RAM?

Shaun.

How do I find out...
Hi,
How do I find out how many free bytes are left on my ZX81? I know there was a way to PEEK at two memory locations, but I can't remember which one.
Regards,
Shaun.

You say that you've got all 8 levels in...? When is the new build going to be uploaded?

Re: New ZX80 boards
Hi, I'd be interested in a board. Regarding the (C), well if it's an exact ZX80 clone then there's a problem. I think Amstrad (who own Sinclair's IPs) said that ZX Spectrum clones could be legal as long as the ROM/OS was stored 'softly', ie, on disk or removable media, rather than being in a ROM. Re...
