I think I will give a try within the next weeks. Specially what to desolder in order to do easy measurement on the rema...

Re: Recommendations on a test platform
Using an ULA may make option two possible. I know several zx81s that are made on pcb by wiring standard ttl. They have in common that they are not maintainable. Andy's ula makes this much better. Andy uses an issue one board glued on a piece of wood with a replacement membrane attached to the wood. ...

Static stuff, but as usual impressive Not static at all. You need to read the manual ;) Shift-5 to Shift-8 moves the screen around. In case it gets ilegible (your monitor not liking the position) Shift-0 restores to the initial coordinates :D The default position was evalutated to fit into the ZX20...

Re: Need for speed - the ROM-patches
To run at 20Mhz, the ROM is copied to RAM and then RAM occupies the 0-8K At the moment I am (still) experimenting with the STK16C88 Auto Store 32K RAM which is 25ns fast. It is in my (extended, zero insertion force) ROM Socket. I want to do banking as well and when in 0-8K its write Protected, if i...
