On mine it is 70 x 27 mm. (I also have a notice about the integral functions at the front right side).

Indeed; I've changed the program name "sz81" in z81-2.2 to "z81s" in the present source, and will have a look at the inconsistencies that you mentioned. I think the ".z81" files are the files from the original package upon which sz81 is based.

Just to be sure - did you set the memory of sz81 to 56k (With 16k -the default - it gives blank screens)?

I used the Makefile (without .z81) without any additional flags. Normal and hires modes work also on an old 32 bit machine. So for now it is a mystery... Does the original sz81-2.1.7 from sourceforge work? Good to hear that the z81-2.2 works on the Pi!
