Re: Create ULA for €5?
Yes - you can use Eagle or similar. If you have 2 layers they are automatically plated through. There is no special fee for that, it's standard. As well as silk print. ;) Cool - that's great! I've got two projects to send to them. :) The least messy and easiest to use etching system that I know of ...

Re: Proper voltage for ZX81 AC adapter
Hi Mark, Thanks for the explanation! I knew that without load the voltage from the supply would be higher (but not by how much, exactly). What I didn't know (I was once a programmer not an engineer ;) ) was about calculating AC RMS peak and the multiplier. I love learning new stuff on here. :D So fo...

Proper voltage for ZX81 AC adapter
I was using one of my ZX81 adapters last night and when I went to unplug it it seemed much warmer than I remembered them getting. It's an original Sinclair one - 9.75V 600MA. When I metered it no load, it measured just over 14.5v. I got out two other adapters (one Sinclair and one DVE) and they both...

Re: ZX81 Software releases
I totally agree with everything in this thread regarding the mythical notion of "abandonware" even with differences between US and UK law, but I thought it might be helpful to share a little bit of language we use in trying to clarify this "edge case" where copyright holders can't be located at leas...

Re: Create ULA for €5?
I am not sure if it's really worth making prototype boards yourself in these days. Now most suppliers have special offers with 10 boards 100x100 mm size for just 5 US$ plus shipment. ;) https://www.seeedstudio.com/fusion_pcb.html What a great resource. I was just hunting for a shop that would do sm...

Re: ZX8-CCB installation help
Or just break the old modulator circuit board by the careful application of extreme force  Mark  I think that was what I was trying to do. I guess I need to go the gym or something. :D Seriously, I was trying to do that but the zeddy pcb was starting to flex. It's hard to believe that the...

Re: Does anyone have this brochure?
I realized the listing expired when the machine sold - here is the image from the listing. I think it might be the folded schematic that was available from Sinclair? I've never seen one of those but I know they were available?? Hi everyone, I saw this listing on ebay for a ZX80 and don't recognize t...
