Re: Issue 1 board

They looked to me like the owner had swapped chips back and forth perhaps... so either a rarity or an anachronism lol. But the chips look to be socketed, so it shouldn't be hard to improve the authenticity of it in future if appropriate.

Re: Issue 1 board

I'm 99% sure that's what it is. But you never know, with Sinclair's habit of fixing returns and reselling them. So I won't know for certain until I get my hands on it again!

Issue 1 board

Hi all, I and someone else (maybe someone here?) managed to secure a ZX81 issue 1 motherboard each from eBay last night, for about a tenner apiece. Nice! Sold as tested and working, but in the photo it looks a real mess. I think they were built from kits. I'll post some pics when it arrives, and you...

Re: Random Maze Creator

In line 265, C$(CN TO) might as well say C$(CN TO CN+1). He only ever writes two characters at a time into the maze, as far as I can see. The DIM of C$ just makes sure he doesn't get a subscript out of range when he puts the two characters at those positions for the first time. He throws away C$ at ...

Re: Other Compilers

Yes, sorry I think it's ZXGT I have... a bit confusing when it said MCODER on the box lol. It definitely says "0 REM ZXGT" when you type LIST, and you compile with RAND USR 17432. That's the original MCODER/ZXGT version I think.

Re: Random Maze Creator

I like it! And yes, I don't see anything in particular that would upset MCODER. Well, MCODER 2 anyway - I don't have any experience with the original MCODER. One or two lines will need tweaking (perhaps line 60 will need to be broken down into separate IF statements, I'm not sure), but that's always...

Re: Other Compilers

Sorry for the lack of reply... the reason I didn't reply is because MCODER 2 is the only one I ever used. I ordered it the day I saw the advert in Sinclair User, and never looked back. It tided me over nicely during the period I learned Z80 coding, and it gave really zippy performance as long as you...
