Zxir Qlive Alive on Internet Archive

I just happened to discover that the Internet Archive has issues of Zxir Qlive Alive (Sir Clive Alive), the newsletter for the North American Timex/Sinclair User Group. The newsletter covers the ZX81, T/S 2068 and QL. For those on this side of the pond, it can be nostalgic. For others, there might b...

Re: Games wrote in Basic

For short type-in games, a number of past issues of Sinclair User are available from the Internet Archive. There should be some in the early issues.

The second issue of ZXzine has been posted to my Google Sites page:

Look for ZXine2.pdf and ZXzine2.zip. The zip file contains all of the related files from the issue.

Re: sz81 (gnu/linux) not supporting hires?

I just downloaded and tested sz81-2.2. Great job getting the WRX hi-res working. That was the biggest lacking feature of sz81. sz81 is my favorite ZX81 emulator. It is native to Linux and it has a mouse driven GUI front end controlling it, making it very easy to use. I have EightyOne running under W...

ZXzine

As I've been doing work / tinkering with the ZX81, I've always like to write up what I have been doing. With no outlet for this writing, I've decided to create ZXzine, an e-zine for the ZX81. I also work in the QL, and I've created an e-zine for the QL called SMSQzine. Both are free (creative common...

Re: Tea Bag Quotes

What tool do you use with the .bas files? I noticed that you have the MC in the Remark statement. The tool you use takes the hex value and puts it in the remark. I've been using zxtext2p and I don't think it has that capability. I was wondering if there was another tool? Also, what tool do you use t...

Re: 1K Hires games distribution

The games are surely interesting and the source code is great to have. To encourage others to try this, I think it would be a great idea to have a "dummies" guide to 1K Hires games, showing a simple example of WRX hires, staring from the graphics on graph paper, all the way to coding the graphics an...

Cesar,

I'm running version 1.01. I don't see "Autoload Tape". Are you referring to "autoselect snap/tapes"?

Re: Basic beyond 16K

Stefano, I did the poke and the new. Pokemon, I was pretty sure EightyOne could do it, based on an earlier thread on the same topic. I know that EightyOne is the preferred emulator and probably what most use, if they are using Windows. My main question was doing this with the three emulators that I ...
