Re: TS1500 Owner Manual

The T/S 1500 User Manual is already posted online:

http://www.sinclair.hu/speccyalista/kon ... Manual.pdf

The physical look is more inline with the T/S 2068 manual than the T/S 1000 manual. The T/S 1500 was released just a few months before the T/S 2068 was.

Re: ZX81 assembler development on Linux

For Linux, I use sz81. I find it fast and easy to use with a little GUI that lets me quickly select the file I want to load. The latest version of sz81 support HRG graphics. For ASM I do use Pasmo, but I've not attempted the listing that you are talking about. For doing BASIC programming, I use zxte...

Re: ZX81 / TS1000 User Groups in USA (Chicago land area)?

blittled,

What years were you in Wash DC and involved with CATS? I was a member of that group from early 1989 until early 1993. I remember many a meeting at the New Carrolton Library.

Re: ZX81 / TS1000 User Groups in USA (Chicago land area)?

There was the Chicago Area Timex Users Group which had the newsletter "Nite Time News". As far as I know they have disbanded. This user group was all inclusive (ZX81, T/S 2068 & QL). Bob Swoger is still active in a CoCo group in Chicago and I believe that group might allow some Sinclair discussion. ...

ZXzine #3

The long awaited third issue of ZXzine is now available. It can be found on my Google sites page:

https://sites.google.com/site/svenqhj/home

Just look at list of files. There is ZXzine3.pdf and ZXzine3.zip (which contains the programs and source code).

Re: No user defined functions.

For functions and procedures, you have to use GOSUB. If you have function - func(y) 10 let x = func(10) Assume the code for the function starts at line 1000, this is how you would run it: let y = 10 gosub 1000 print x you would just make sure that the function would set the results into variable X, ...

Re: SUCCESS OF TIMEX COMPUTERS

> I'm not at my ZX81 so I can't check the RAM but does it come with 1K and is it shielded? The ZX81 came with 1K and the T/S 1000 came with 2K. Once the 16K ram pack was installed, then they both had just 16K (the internal memory was switched off). My first ZX81 died with a keyboard problem. It repl...

Re: SUCCESS OF TIMEX COMPUTERS

The ZX81 hit the US first, but it was sold via mail order only in Oct. 1982. The T/S 1000 hit the market in July 1982 and was competing against the Vic-20, TRS-80 Coco, and Atari 400/800. Yes a bunch of the market was for gaming (esp. kids). I think one of the major issues was that Timex did not mar...
