Re: ZX 81 development on Linux. What tools?

I got the answer: "load" works only for ZX Spectrum program (eg SNA) not for ZX81 ones (.p)! So... by this it's not a feature of my computer's configuration but a bug of work with ZX81. By this my solution with modification of the source code can be useful, because at me all work fine now and for Z...

Re: ZX 81 development on Linux. What tools?

If it works - don't touch it :)
I'm having a problem, and I've changed the source code to fix it, maybe it's a feature of my computer's configuration.

Re: ZX 81 development on Linux. What tools?

My solution is not ideal, only a temporary one. It's like fixing a hole in a water pipe with a chewing gum - it works, but no more. As an engineer, I understand that this is an ugly solution of the problem.

Re: ZX 81 development on Linux. What tools?

My own experience in Linux environment for ZX81 assembler development: 1. Visual Studio Code with DeZog 2. z88dk development kit 3. ZEsarUX VS Code configuration files: In tasks.json: { "label": "z88dk", "type": "shell", "command": "z88dk.z88dk-z80asm", "args": [ "-mz80", "+zx81", "-l", "-m", "${fil...

Re: Hello! New first time owner of zx81

If you don’t mind modifying your ZX81, it is possible to change R29 and C11 and C12 to increase the output level. Another one solution - just remove R27 and C11. It's a very simple solution, but it works. Let me note, that in some versions of ZX81 board, R27 & C11 are not in its own place, but dire...

Re: Hello from Ukraine

Thank you Mark for your nice story, it was very interesting and informative - I see we both have something to remember from the old computer times. And regarding a cup - I also use it more often for tea, mostly Darjeeling Tea, but I know about Somerset & cider - their advertising is everywhere and i...

Hi Mark, I see you are from Somerset... I've never been in the UK, but look at the photo - this is my favorite cup that my daughter bought for me in your Somerset ;)

Re: Hello from Ukraine

Just to illustrate life behind the "Iron Curtain": my first program was saved on perforated paper tape at the school and this is at the same time as most of you have already used their own home computers ZX81 or ZX Spectrum some later.

Re: Greetings from Northwest, AR, USA

It never ceases to amaze me how many different parts of the world our members come from, especially your side of the puddle. For USA it is not so strange, because they have Timex 1000 and it was official sales in USA. More strange is are members from the countries, where ZX81 has never been sold. A...
