That looks like Pseudo high res? the WRX driver lets you get real high res and is easy to implement, though makes programming more challenging.

back in 82, I simply cut a hole in the case, put in a joystick port, and hardwired it to the arrow keys... pretty simple....

If you have a 3d printer, I think I put a case design up on thingiverse that matches the 81 design.

its maddening to have a messed up coordinate system. In my code, I treat X and Y the "right" way and use the code to transpose as needed.

both the "port on a cable" and the later ones with the db9 fixed to the board support the Atari style (I have both)

Those "clicky" keyboards are fantastic quality. I have several!
