Any tape loader emulators, like TZXDuino?

Re: Russian PCB ZX80 clone problem

Alright, my almost 3 years quest for ZX 80 clone (Russian PCB) is over. Behold the functional machine with an absolutely crystal clear picture and the keyboard. Cannot recommend the spare keyboard and that RF amplifier more, got them both off sellmyretro and from our very own PokeMon

ROM chip question

Hello, I am building ZX80/81 Wilco replica. The Chinese kit comes with w27e257-10 (in place of 27c128) whis is okay.
But mine came with w27e257 12
I have checked with data sheet and the difference is with address line access time
The question is - will be w27e257 12 good instead of w27e257 10?

Cheers

Re: Russian PCB ZX80 clone problem

Well, that is even better, the keyboard works perfectly in that case then!
For some reason I though ZX Spectrum has all its BASIC command bind to keys, but if ZX 80 has the same concept, it is alright then

The next stop will be Jupiter Ace clone BTW

Re: Russian PCB ZX80 clone problem

I'm following this more intently now Alright so I was able to finally start my "Russian PCB" clone, after flashing the ROM. The chip that comes with the kit is empty, so you will need to actually flash it. After the boot it works, but there are some problems with keyboard and the picture. But it is...

Re: Russian PCB ZX80 clone problem

I'm following this more intently now. Sure, I will inform you of my progress. However, let's deal with this situation technically wise. Let's also assume the ROM is okay now, but we have the very same picture. The TV picture is generated only if the CPU (at least starts) reads ROM and may write to ...

Which type number is on the EPROM that you have, 2732 (4K bytes) or 2764 (8K bytes)?

The ZX80 original ROM is 4K bytes. The ZX81 ROM (which can also be used in a ZX80) is 8K bytes.

Mark
I have 2732 shipped with the kit
