Re: Matthias Swatosch's 64K hi-res driver issues
Ah, Moggy, thank you! I was confused by the statement on Matthias' web site that said:- Here is the actual version 2.8 for 16k RAM HRG-16k.p or 32k-64k RAM HRG-64k.p as ZX81 p-file. I read that to mean I could run 32k-64k RAM programs using the HRG-64K.p file. Obviously it doesn't mean a 64K program...

Matthias Swatosch's 64K hi-res driver issues
Not sure if this should be posted under 'Hardware' or 'Software', so please feel free to move if required. I'm using a ZXpand (ROM version 6.7, firmware 'TROLL 2.62') with my ZX81. All works well (after a good clean up of the expansion port connection!). However, whenever I try to run Matthias Swato...

Re: My K prompt has faded!
Thank you for the responses Vorticon and Moggy. Are you using a modulator or do you have the composite mod? It's fitted with the composite mod. The only occasion I can recall something similar happening to me is when the composite signal to the TV was too strong from the simple composite mod I did a...

My K prompt has faded!
Not sure what has happened, but as of today, my ZX81's screen has gone weird. The K prompt is hardly visible, like it's washed out. It is there, but appears as if someone has messed with the brightness/contrast. I've removed the attached ZXpand and AY expansion, but still the same problem. I'm wonde...

Re: ZXpand and the ZXpand-AY Sound Module wobble?
Thanks for the responses Mark and Martin. Blu-tack is good. A long strip of foam backed, double sided sticky tape is better ;-) The long strip of foam backed, double-sided sticky tape sounds like a plan! I’ve started replacing the edge connectors with stackable pin-headers, like we know from Arduino...

ZXpand and the ZXpand-AY Sound Module wobble?
I own a refurbished ZX81 along with a ZXpand and the ZXpand-AY Sound Module. It's a rather flaky set up as I continually have issues with the "white screen of death" (a term I learnt from the forum! ;)). The ZXpand and the ZXpand-AY Sound Module are enclosed in a replica Memotech case. I've used con...

Re: sz81 emulator
The 2.3.10 source and Windows binaries have been updated with a minor change for UDG. Without this change, the first "BBB" video worked, but hopefully now also the new example videos. A difference is that switching off WRX doesn't seem to be necessary. Hopefully the minor change does not give issue...

Re: sz81 emulator
SZ81 for windows also has Zxpand support but unfortunately the UDG setting doesn't seem to want to work with the video player. The Windows versions (available at the link in the first post) have been updated to version 2.3.10 :) I'm running version 2.3.10, albeit under GNU/Linux but it doesn't appe...

Re: sz81 emulator
To my knowledge the only emulator supporting ZXpand is EighthOne. ZXpand support is needed. sz81 supports ZXpand if compiled to do so... Key features of sz81 are: High Resolution Graphics ZON X-81 sound card emulation ZXpand, ZXNU, and ZXmore emulation ZeddyNet emulation Memory sizes from 1K to 48K...
