Re: ZX81 (BEOCOMP version) using RF to HDMI converter

The B&W TV has the added bonus of extra nostalgia when in use. 8-) I’m very jealous of the BEOCOMP by the way. Its not a variant I think I have seen for sale. Well, if it works, I may put it up for sale... I’d buy it if not working. I suspect it is a normal zeddy inside and therefore fixable.

If so there are two pots that look adjustable? Might be worth taking a photo of where they are now (to allow easy roll back) and adjusting them.

Re: ZX81 1983 Issue 3 Board, which has two initial problems.

Does the composite mod have any adjustment? I fit ZX8-CCBS (and have fitted a lot) and they have two pots that need adjusting to get a good and stable picture: https://www.ginger-electronic.com/en/retro-computer/21-zx8-ccb-video-mod-for-sinclair-zx80-and-zx81.html Once adjusted the picture is superb...

Re: Sorry I haven't been around

Thanks for the link - an interesting read. I was drinking way too much coffee. Headaches, light headedness, dizziness… I have it black with no sugar so not the additives in this case. Apparently caffeine restricts blood flow to the brain. When it wears off all the blood rushes back in and causes the...

Re: Sorry I haven't been around

I dodged the type 2 bullet a few years ago. After drinking WAY too much coffee for decades it became apparent I needed to cut down. Sadly I did not coincide this reduction of caffeine with improved sleep so made up for the lack of energy by eating more sweet stuff. I had an MOT blood test which said...

Good luck with getting that sorted.

Might be time to do a little programming instead?

Re: ZX80 16K RAM PACK Numbers?

I don’t know numerically how rare they are but only a few pop up on eBay each year.
