Re: SINCLAIR ZX SPECTRUM The WIRELESS RECREATED

Ah - the Elite "Recreated ZX Spectrum" - basically a bluetooth keyboard. They are OK I suppose - Elite did not really help matters by pulling the apps from the Apple store etc shortly after the Recreated ZX Spectrum was launched and not even supplying all of the backers on the kickstarter supposedly...

Re: ZX Printer Belt

I have been speaking further with Ian Gledhill (Mutant Caterpillar) about these - don't forget that Ian offers a refurb service for ZX Printers, including a replacement belt for £49.99 - https://www.sellmyretro.com/offer/details/sinclair-zx-printer-repair-28467 He cannot sell the belts on their own ...

Re: ZX Printer Belt

Yes, we ordered in begin of May last year and never got any updates from them since then. Last year in October I met him in Cambridge at the Spectrum35 show. He then said they were testing the belts. As I haven't received any belts I guess the test results were bad. If they were willing to deliver ...

Re: USB ports for Printer and another devices?

You can change the drop-down at the top of the site to view prices in USD (well approx prices) - as the conversion is based on paypal's published conversion lookups without their extra fees.

Re: USB ports for Printer and another devices?

Moggy, Yes, but we have to be mindful of the thermal paper roll measurement before ordering these rolls. In according to the TS2040 manual, Roll size: Roll width: 110mm/4.28"/4.33"/ or 4-5/16" --- Roll diameter: 48mm --- Paper length: 25 meter max. 82 feet. Are these thermal paper rolls expensive? ...

Re: USB ports for Printer and another devices?

At the moment, the best option for a centronics printer is to wait until the Retro-Printer module is available to purchase. Last time I looked, Epson still made a suitable dot matrix printer (!) but costing over £300, and some laser printers support centronics ports (but mainly expect HP PCL printer...

Re: USB ports for Printer and another devices?

Maybe you are better of using one of the many centronics interfaces for ZX81, and connect a http://www.retroprinter.com/. Here you are limited only by Linux printer drivers on a Raspberry Pi. Yes indeed - what we actually need is a new simple centronics interface for the ZX81 and ZX Spectrum which ...

Re: ZX Printer Belt

Mhudson52, I don't have a printer to test fit it on, so if someone Stateside would like to give it shot, let me know. I have a working TS2040 and I am on the same side of the "pond" as you are! :-D Cheers, DesSony I thought the TS2040 was an Alphacom 32 - a different printer to the ZX Printer.....

The mounting points actually stand proud of the rest of the belt from memory - I don't have a ZX Printer (nor a belt) to try...
