Correction: all this nonsense seems to have been caused by capacitor C2 ( .047UF).
Replaced this and seems stable. At least I was successful at 16 KB internal memory. Now have to order ZX8CCB to add back porch and finish it up.

ts1000.JPG Here's something you don't see every day... an NOS Timex found locally. A friend had one of these growing up, which even included the modem. So it was a surprise to find this to replace the one I bought used that's broken. Now, I'll just have to admire it for awhile before opening. :)

Thanks, I'll have to check into that.
It would be nice if ULA is not bad... other units are cheap, but not that cheap. May be time for an inexpensive ULA replacement (like PLA has available for C64).
