Having said that; I really like pascal, and have studied the ZX81 version quite a bit. (Sorry, I don't want to hijack a great thread.)

I’ve only used Pascal in my youth learning from books from the library. Cobol I use in my day job. Today! That’s what happens when you’re employed for banks with mainframes. ;)

It seems this game links to a Mini Game Compo site, that does not include the game. Maybe you should update the post about the game with the game and source.

  • Use dr. Beep's USCII if you want to code for WRX (needs WRX enabled RAM), or
  • Use Paul's code if you need to run with PSG (Pseudo Hires Graphics) on unmodified hardware.
USCII will be easier, but Paul's code will work on unmodified hardware.

You always have the Pseudo High Res Graphics alternative which doesn't require hardware mods, it's a software only solution. But there is no easy way to use it from Basic, like the great USCII-routine. And you can’t use the ZX81 charset, unless you use the same “I”-value as the ROM does. However it...

It's not so bad if the keyboard is broken. You'll then connect an external keyboard, and you'll appreciate it in the long run.
