Never come across PSRAM before - looks cool. Anyone know where you can buy it?
I hate DRAM, but find the capacities of SRAM to be quite disappointing so this stuff looks interesting.

Unfortunately, the assembler doesn't like that one.PokeMon wrote:Normally this is done with the "align" statement, followed with the desired boundary.
Don't ask me.

Brilliant! Thank you very much.
It was the use of a dummy label that I didn't think of and it has given me something workable.

Anyone know how to do this with Z80ASM?
I'm hoping someone here is familiar with Interlogic's Z80ASM assembler (distributed with z88dk). I need to fill a space from the current instruction count to the next 255-byte block (e.g. $0100, $0200, $0300 etc. etc.) but all my attempts to create expressions and use defs or .fill etc. are resultin...

Re: Improving Timex/Sinclair Tape Loading
Pretty cool! I built a device for amplifying the audio signal coming out of the ZX81 so it could be recorded effectively by modern devices (iPhone), and provided an on/off switch for the computer. Combine the two and you'd have the ultimate audio assistant.

Re: [OT] Tri-state line drivers
Can't argue with that. What X1 have you got? The hot pink MSX-alike or the black twin-tower? I have an X1 Twin (X1 + PC Engine combo) - same as this, except mine has two 5.25" drives in (and an HxC floppy emulator hanging out the back): https://pbs.twimg.com/media/A8Tj4NDCcAExCNC.jpg And a fully-bo...

Re: [OT] Tri-state line drivers
It may well be, that Sharp buffered the address lines and the some of the control lines because it was easy, but did not buffer the data bus, because of the extra expense / problems involved with including suitable address decoding for this. Seems so. I suppose some buffering is better than none, b...

Re: [OT] Tri-state line drivers
Wow. That read-only writing system is seriously cool. Thanks for the info guys - that's a trick that might come in very handy one day. Wish there was more documentation for this bloody X1. :D To the best of my knowledge, the I/O expansion system on the X1 functions pretty similar to a backplane. Two...

Re: [OT] Tri-state line drivers
Why do you don't build up your own box ? ... You know... That's actually a pretty sensible suggestion. It's not like I really have to worry about compatibility with existing X1 expansion cards - they're so damn rare (read: impossible to find outside of Japan and even then it's tough) that i'm basic...
