Re: Atari joystick without ZXpand+

I remember modding my Timex Sinclair 1000 in the mid 80's with a 8255 General Purpose IO chip and memory mapped it to the computer and attaching a DB9 connector to it. I then hacked CornSoft's Frogger and got a digital joystick to work with the game. Google Wilf Wrigter. He had many articles on how ...

Re: SD81 Booster

This is a very interesting project! Thanks for making it opensource :D . I have a friend who has his own hobby fab shop. I may have him order a pcb when he orders some boards for a system he's developing. He also has surface mount soldering tools, laser cutter and 3D printers so I'm sure I can get o...

Re: ULA 'TAPE IN' Expected Voltages?

Yes, I'm generating a digital pulse on a generic i/O pin to the Tape In pin of an unmodified ZX81.

Re: ULA 'TAPE IN' Expected Voltages?

I'm not sure if this will help but I've experimented with developing a SD card reader with microcontrollers (Arduino Due and Parallax's Propeller) and converted the data to a bit stream that used the same timings as the cassette format. Both use 3.3V logic to create the pulses and I never had any is...

Re: Ian buys a (sort of) Zeddy,... Timex-Sinclair 2068

I had a TS2068 back in the mid 80's. I remember the computer club I went to had a meeting where we assembled the Spectrum rom cartridge. Sadly my power cord plug got damaged and when I rewired it with the polarity reversed by accident. It overloaded the TS2068 and I never did figure out how to get i...

Re: Hello from Seattle!

Welcome to this wonderful forum. I have found all the members helpful in my ZX adventures :D . A little off topic but I'm interested in your FPGA projects. I have DE0-Nano and a DE10-Lite boards and trying to get into FPGAs so PM me about them sometime. Thanks!
