Re: Serious use of the Z88 - what can you actually achieve?
I was very active with my Z88 from about 93 to about 98. When I traveled, I used it to access a Unix system at work and was able to read Usenet from the hotel room. I set rows to be 8 in the shell and 'nn' ran just fine on the Z88. I used it a few times for writing while flying. While commuting on B...

Re: ZX81 review and repair on Adrian's digital basement
I've been looking into the USA ZX81's and the T/S 1000. I found ebay to be a good source of pictures of the T/S 1000. Besides those built in Portugal and France, I found one built in the UK (I'm assuming the Dundee plant). I've queried the US T/S group for details on their hardware to gather more in...

Re: currently looking for books related to Hisoft Pascal for the zx spectrum
David Solly of Ontario, Canada, wrote a number of articles on Hisoft Pascal for the T/S 2068 (but the Pascal should be the same). An index of all of his articles (with links to documents on the Internet Archive) can be found here:

Re: Lambda colour kit
For translation, Google Translate is decent. But, looking at those PDF's, they don't appear to be OCR'd, so you can't copy the text from the document. About your only option is to hand type the critical sections that you need into Google Translate and have the German translated to English.

Re: Atari 2600 SFX for ZX81
I'm using sz81-2.3.12 and the player is working. One thing of note, the directory is "A" and when I type "A/01", the load fails. I changed the directory to "a" and then it loads. It looks like sz81 is taking the "A" as a lower case "a" when going to the file system.

I've set aside 8 issues to be made available to those on the other side of the pond. They are available for only the cost of shipping (which should be about $9). The first 8 people that send me an e-mail with a mailing address will get the issue. Contact me at swenson_t@sbcglobal.net. Payment can be...

Re: ZXzine #11
David, Odds are it was Bill that you talked to. He lived in Cupertino, which is next to San Jose. It's hard to tell where Cupertino ends and San Jose starts. Another person there could have been Terry Greenlee. If it was an older guy with a beard, then Jack Dohaney (who was big into the T/S 2068). Tim

Re: What if the QL came to America?
I bought my QL in April 1986 from Sunset Electronics in S.F. About the only folks that knew about it were those already involved in the Timex/Sinclair community. To know more, see my paper: "The Sinclair QL in North America"
