On SourceForge you can find two zips per release, which can simply be downloaded. The first contains the executable distribution and the second contains the source for it.

I think the problem is you are poking the DFILE system variable (16396 and 16397) to change the location of the display file such that it points to each of the 10 different screens in turn, but crucially the two bytes are not changed at the same time. One issue that caught me out for a while is that the program only runs when using the edition 2 ZX81 ROM. With an edition 1 ROM the program crashes with error code C/9510.

This works but must be run in FAST mode.
