and due to its black case, it is nearly a perfect black radiator, able to emit a lot of energy as thermal radiation

Maybe, but the thermal conductivity of the ABS plastic is not exactly great...
A warm Zeddy does work nicely as a hand warmer. Just need two in winter, one for each hand
Incidentally, if you have a fan in your machine and that results in a forced airflow over the ULA (and 7805 if you are still using a series voltage regulator), then the ULA does not need a heatsink...
