Telly speakers are a bit like laptop sounders, only ok for saying "You got mail" IMHO

Unfortunately my stereo is the other side of the room and the cable won't go that far! But even the telly sounds surprisingly good!

I really need to rearrange the furniture...

Mine arrived today. Installation was super-easy and the board just works fine. I tried Pink Panther and the AY-demo. I wonder, is there a complete list of AY compatible ZX81 software?

Nope. Let's make one! There is a new topic in the 'Software' section. If you add titles to the topic I'll link them in the first post.

There are a small number of AY boards up on SMR right now. There will be more soon as I have received all the parts now.
