Does anyone have a alternative version of Alien Dropout?

Post by JohnsBargs »

It should play like this, with enemies regularly dropping to the ground and exploding.

But the commonly-available version (eg from zx81stuff.org) has no dropping invaders at all in lr-81. They just sit in their tubes and the only thing that can kill you is the UFO that falls down the centre occasionally. The file works fine in the Windows version of EightyOne so it's clearly an emulator issue, but if there's another version anywhere that one might be okay.

Hi JohnsBargs, I'm in the middle of writing a 1k version which I need to get back into. I've run out of memory so progress is slow. Only a couple of features to add before it can be released.

If it helps, the arcade game it's based on is Astro Invader.

I was meaning a different version of this specific Silversoft one - there are other ports of Astro Invader already, including Galactic Trooper and UFO - but I'm quite excited to hear of a 1K one on the way :)
