Hi all. From rural Ropley, Hampshire

Post by MarkAffleck »

Hello

I have finally joined this Forum

Got a ZX81 in 1981 and ended up in IT for most of my working life because of it! Now retired and have recently dug it out and rekindled the interest.
Have a few questions so now time to start posting...

Welcome to our forum!
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.

Hi Paul

I posted a query a couple of hours ago, but it seems to have disappeared. Just wondered what has happened.

Hi Mark,
The first few posts need to be approved by an admin. This is to reduce abuse.
This might sometimes need a while because all admins are doing this in their free time.
Sorry it took long.

Thanks.

I understand how you guys have a day job and why it has to be reviewed.
Because it seemed to vanish within my own profile, I started doubting I had even submitted it! (Old age you know :D )

I saw it before and thought I had approved it. But it's possible I had a network issue.
I surely didn't disapprove it.
I do the best I can and pay all costs myself and try to keep it free of advertising.
My friend MSch does all the administrative work on the website.
And just a few help to administer the contents,
Mainly 1024mak whom I can't thank enough.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.

Hello and welcome to our forum Mark!

:D :D :D

Yes, I’m normally reasonably quick at dealing with posts awaiting approval. But I was rather busy with my ‘day’ job today. I had a meeting in London, then a 2½ hour journey back home. Then a video conference call. Hence did not have a chance to check. When I did log in, Paul had already approved your posts.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this forum :D

Hi Guys!

Thanks for all you info so far. I am certainly enjoying my trip so far, wealth of info on ZX81 that I had no idea about.
Certainly don't know how you find the time to deal with all this!

Mark, you have already replied to my first (I know it won't be my last) post on this forum with very detailed information. Many thanks.

I'll go back to that and add to it, I think I am nearly there with it, but not quite....

Regards,

Mark
