My ZX Max48 issue 1



I am trying to use the ZX81 keyboard with ZX Max but, some changes are needed to KBD lines assignments in the CPLD.

BTW there is also newer Issue 2 in the wild. Iss2 does have additionally the AY chip and Kempston joystick interface.

I think the order of some address lines is different for ZX81 and ZX spectrum keyboard. Would you be so nice and publish your changes ? Would be great.

Yes, sure. My modifications to the Issue 1 board are as follows:

I spoke with Suprefo and we agreed that it would be a clean solution if minor changes to the CPLD file were done. The keyboard data lines been remapped to match ZX81 layout (KBD0 and KBD1 were swapped with KBD4 and KBD3 respectively). Additionally two diodes (D5 & D6) on address lines (A12 & A9) were crossed on the board. And that is all.

There is also high probability of frying transistor Q2 (BC548) while using 8 Ohms beeper, so I would recommend adding 33R resistor in series with LS1.
