Where’s the like button when you need it...

Re: Memotext & word processing in general
This even means that ZXblast isn't needed. Any RAM in 8k-16k will work.
About saving/loading will not work with the ZXpand. However it would be possible to crate two extra commands for Load ZXpand and Save ZXpand in addition to QIT to quit the program. A research how data is stored in memory is needed so the command can save with 'from' and 'to' memory location on the ZXpand. A binary save and load is needed, as Memotext does not use standard .P files.

Re: Memotext & word processing in general
I found an article describing Memotext in 'E. Arthur Brown Co.' catalog no. 2 page 25. Here it states it will NOT work with ZX-printer/Alphacom32.

That is great work!
Have you found the scanned layout somewhere? ZX81.de only has the raw text, but no layout.

This time it's me asking for the like button
Your work is very good and really appreciated.
I am trying to print this as a brochure and am wondering how I can make the title of each page to the outer side of each page instead of being always on the left side. Alternatively it could of course be in the middle of each page so it wouldn't look wrong on every second page.
I'm afraid my wordprocessing capabilities are very limited, so Memotext will be very adequate for me.
Kind regards Paul

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.
Re: Memotext & word processing in general
Just studied this and firstly let me say excellent research Martin and also XavSnap for the manual.
I notice in the article the author mentions Hunter memory boards and luckily I happen to have two of them one set up for EPROM use the other as a battery backed RAM module. These days I find the Xpand can replace the battery back board easily so could in theory make a good substitute.
Paul has been in touch with myself and has told me he will work on something that could be usable with modern memory boards and hopefully will then instruct me what to do to extract the Memotext code into something we can all use.
Again excellent research guys.

Re: Memotext & word processing in general
If you follow the instructions in the article, will you not have a binary?
What needs to be discovered by Paul?
What needs to be discovered by Paul?
Re: Memotext & word processing in general
I think he wants to make it usable with P files for the Xpand and other memory modules. How this works is beyond me so I will just follow whatever instruction given and hopefully a good result.
