Re: Question about EPROMS
Hi All Your suggestion is a good one Palmheads, I use an 8k memory board with battery backup, loaded with zxas assembler for speed of loading, or sometimes just to save work in progress. I also use a toolkit spread over two 2k eproms which can be used with 4k of the ram, but in the absence of a epro...

Re: Memotext & word processing in general
Hi Palmheads I think the reason The Memotext never caught on was the sheer complexity of the damm thing!!! No hi res display and to achieve anything useful you had to master a bunch control codes and guess what the output would look like! It does have a keyboard buffer built in so no lag. I have str...

Also the memotech, like all their gear, is very pro looking. Mine is still in use all keys working (though le...

Re: Berch's assembler
Hi floydbloke nice game cant wait for your next project. i noticed in an earlier post that you might use zxas as your assembler if so use this link and download zxas(ge) for the ts1000, it doesn't have the bugs of the original zxas (ie error reports and non compilation of perfectly legal instruction...

Re: ZX-81 with RUBBER KEYBOARD??
hi yerzmyey the rubber keyboard you mention was called "filesixty". the first ones had hard plastic keys and were crap! the later rubber ones were far better , until the rubber weakened after many key presses then the key stayed down. search for old sinclair user mags they used to be advertised in t...

HOW DOES THIS WORK??
Hi all I found this in Sinclair User, it works on a real zeddy so it should also work on an emulator. Does anyone know how it does it? Here it is as written.... "Here is a way you can use NEW and OLD statements on the 16k ZX-81 in a similar way to the BBC computer: Load or type in a program on your ...

Hi Sir Morris You could I suppose wade through defenders code and see the relevence of the pokes on the inlay card that alter the display. A bit of "back coding" so to speak. I'm afraid I don't have the latin for it being one of lifes thickies!!! The p file and inlay is here if you don't have it alr...
