Re: Where can I find "true" ZX81 fonts
For anyone that might find my ZX80 and ZX81 font files useful. I use them in the interface of my iOS/iPadOS ZX81 app for the text in the UI (see the settings options to switch fonts) and also in the memory dump viewer. ZX80_81_fonts.zip They are based on a heavily edited ZX81 font file from Paul Rei...

macOS version of ZX81 iOS/iPadOS app
Hi folks, Download link: https://www.mediafire.com/file/3ahyb9b54vx5mws/ZX81.dmg/file First and foremost, there are already other ZX80/81 emulators that run on macOS without the need for Windows virtualisation: - ClockSignal - SZ81 - ZEsarUX This emulator is an unapologetic recycling of the iOS/iPad...

Re: .p to tape?
A few months back I added functionality to the ZX81 iOS/iPadOS under the Software section to convert P Files to audio. The suggestions above are probably easier these days given that most of the recent corresponding Apple devices don't have a jack output needing a dongle to plug into the lightning p...

Re: SZ81 on an M1 processor Mac
And that was the binary from the link above? Yes. Make sure you move the SZ81 folder in the finder to another location after downloading it. Moved to desktop folder. Could not open from a terminal when going into the content folder. The script did not run. So used Finder to view the SZ81 contents. ...

Re: SZ81 on an M1 processor Mac
I've tried to open both the small window and full screen versions on a Macbook Pro M1 Max running macOS Monterey 12.0.1. After I get past the usual trust unknown source warnings it crashes immediately for the full screen. I can see it try to occupy the full screen but it flashes black and crashes. T...

Re: ZXForth. Plagerism, clever marketing or something else?
I sent some comms to both Bob and David back in May this year to ask if I may include the Forth ROM in my iOS/iPadOS ZX81 app. I did not get a response from either. With Bob I tried messaging his LinkedIn and a gmail account that I found (I didn't try his work email address as I thought that would b...

Re: OUT & vertical sync timing
Paul Farrow kindly sent me a detailed explanation after I emailed him separately. To save anyone else going to the trouble of answering, it’s about 3 cycles before the end of the OUT instruction. Part way into the port write machine cycle of the instruction. I’ll leave Paul with the honours of expla...

Probably would be more likely to get an answer. I guess I was hoping for more empirical based responses from this channel.

OUT & vertical sync timing
Hi all, I asked the following on the ZX81 Owners Facebook group but I suspect for techy questions that I’m better asking here. Sorry for the repetition for those of you who are members in both. How many cycles are there relative to the end of an OUT instruction until the ZX81 ends the vertical video...
