To be honest,
all ZX81 users are spoiled the last years.
Bob moved to ZX81 from ZX Spectrum and I am too.

One more question, how is memory mirroring handled ? In ROM bit 15 is simply set to execute memory. Is this the same handling for starting hires ? So if hires buffer is in lets say $5000 will this be executed at $D000 ? So if hires buffer is in lets say $9000 will this be executed at $9000 ? Bit 15...

Most routines just make a buffer which displayed by its own displayroutine. In effect you just have 1 rule, the buffer must start at a 32 boundary to make it fit the R-register.
